Things to Do in DTLA this Fall

Downtown Los Angeles, aka DTLA, is one of the most active regions in Greater Los Angeles. Packed with tons of museums, eateries, and events, there is always something new to do in DTLA. This autumn is no different!

Here are a few exciting things to do with your troop, family, or with friends.

Celebrate Latinx Heritage Month
¡Feliz Mes de la Herencia Hispana! Or, Happy Hispanic Heritage Month, also now referred to as Latinx Heritage Month!

September 15 – October 15 is a nationally dedicated time to celebrate the histories, cultures, and contributions of Latinx and Hispanic communities in the United States. Los Angeles is home to more than 4.5 million Latinx people, which means that Latinx culture is all around us! This fall, we encourage all members of GSGLA to immerse themselves into the rich Latinx culture of Los Angeles, by visiting local museums, attending cultural events, and much more.

Here are some activities happening in DTLA:

Spot the Giant GSGLA Billboard

First on our list is driving or walking by GSGLA’s massive new billboard! Located on The Reef in the heart of DTLA, between the 10 and 110 freeways and within view of LA Live and the Crypto.com Arena you can see this three-sided, wrap-around digital promotion from miles away. Each side measures 55 feet high and 736 feet wide, making it the world’s largest (out-of-home) digital billboard.

To make this billboard spotting more fun, we encourage you to take a selfie with the billboard while driving by (passengers only!) or posing in front of it if you’re visiting by foot. The billboard rotates with other ads throughout the day and appears for 10 seconds at a time so there are lots of opportunities. Then, share your photo on Instagram, tagging @girlscoutsla for a chance to have your picture featured on GSGLA social channels!

Visit a Free Museum

There are more than 20 museums in Downtown Los Angeles! How many have you been to?

If your answer was anything less than 20, then it’s time to visit a DTLA museum. The best part is, a good majority of these local museums are free, including:
