Summer may be coming to an end but that means we are closer to reconnecting with our troops! When you ask our GSGLA members what Girl Scouts means to them, there is a common theme in the responses, like friendship, courage, and service. Stories are told about sisterhood, stepping out of comfort zones, helping communities, learning new things aside from what school teaches, and more.
If you need help preparing your Girl Scout for the upcoming Girl Scout year, we have pulled together the Top 7 things to help you with back-to-troop season!
- Register or Renew!
Whether you’re new or returning to Girl Scouts, make sure your Girl Scout is registered for the new year. Access your account or create a new one by clicking here. This is needed to ensure that her spot in the troop is secured!
- Update Other Forms
Turn in the annual permission form and health history form to the troop’s leader. This helps us keep your Girl Scout safe! All other forms that you may need during the year, along with additional information, can be found here.
- Shop Uniforms & Supplies
If bridging to a new level, visit the GSGLA shop to get your new uniform. The shop has lots of new products that you can add to your Girl Scout collection such as science kits, charm bracelets, and hiking backpacks.
- Fall Product
A quick tip in preparation for the Fall Product Program: start gathering contact information now. Reconnect with past supporters and reach out to new potential contacts that have entered your life in the past year. They are bound to find something they love while contributing to keeping the Girl Scouts mission going strong! For more tips and tricks visit our Fall Product page. There will be a new product mascot this year too. What do you think it will be?
- Volunteering with Girl Scouts
Attend a parent/family troop meeting and see how you can volunteer to support the troop. Volunteering looks different for each troop. Some may need help with snack time or running a craft activity, while others may need a chaperone for a trip or to assist at a cookie event.
Troop leaders are also especially important, and we are grateful for those who volunteer to lead our girls. GSGLA provides online training and adult learning opportunities, as well as celebrates with volunteer appreciation events and awards! Read about volunteer essentials here.
- Create a calendar!
Update your 2022-2023 calendar with troop meeting dates and any GSGLA programs or events your girl is interested in. You can find the events calendar here.
- Phone a Friend!
Reconnect with old friends and find out what they are excited about this year! You can also invite new friends to join in on the Girl Scouts adventure too. Share this invitation with them.

We cannot wait to see you and hear about all your summer highlights. More adventure awaits in the fall, as this season is bound to be full of cherishable moments!
